Meet Dr. Gulshan

You are not broken. You are becoming whole.™

Meet Dr. Gulshan Nandinee Salim, licensed psychologist and trauma specialist. Combining doctoral-level expertise with warmth and cultural insight, Dr. Gulshan helps high-achieving adults become whole.

Hello, I’m Dr. Gulshan Nandinee Salim—licensed psychologist, trauma specialist, and researcher—and I’m truly glad you’re here!

My name means “bliss in the garden of safety,” and I try to bring a little of that to every therapy session I hold. While I bring doctoral-level training and clinical expertise, I also carry a deep, lived awareness of how culture, identity, and history shape our healing journeys.

I specialize in trauma recovery using evidence-based approaches like CBT, CPT, and Positive Psychology-always adapted to meet you where you are!

My doctoral research at Hofstra University explored the relationships among cultural identity, values, practices, and well-being in Bangladeshi individuals in the U.S.—the first quantitative study of its kind with this population. It was nominated for Hofstra’s prestigious Robinson Award and is published through ProQuest.

A Little About My Work

If you're like many of the patients I work with, you’ve achieved a lot on paper. You’re creative, driven, insightful. However, beneath the surface, you may be carrying emotional pain that success hasn’t soothed—memories that still sting, perfectionism that never rests, or a lingering sense that something’s missing.

You’re not alone in this.

I specialize in working with high-achieving professionals and creatives who feel invisible in their pain—the ones who seem “fine” on the outside but are carrying so much within.

My Philosophy

I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. Your healing journey is uniquely yours, and my role is to walk alongside you—collaborative, compassionate, and unafraid to go deep.

Together, we’ll explore the survival strategies that helped you succeed, and gently untangle the ones that are no longer serving you. This work can be challenging—but it’s also liberating, meaningful, and completely possible.

I’ll never ask you to give up your ambition, creativity, or edge. Instead, we’ll work toward integration, so you can thrive as your whole self.

What It’s Like to Work With Me

Patients often tell me they finally feel seen—that they don’t have to “perform,” explain themselves, or feel ashamed for needing help. That therapy with me feels real, validating, and grounded in both truth and care.

It’s not performative. It’s not surface-level.
It’s work designed with you in mind.

One Last Thing

Healing takes effort—from both of us.
But it’s worth it.

You are not broken. You are becoming whole.™
